Daily Bread

Today the devotional that I have sent to me via email challenged me to spend 10 minutes a day with God.  I try to pray every day but I know I’m not in the word as much as I should be.  And it’s that knowledge that lead me to get on here and thank God for all he has done.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today I come to you with a happy and glad heart.  I am so thankful that you are on the throne.  That you are willing to love us where we are, even when we are unlovable.  Lord, we have committed our lives to trying to live in your image.  That obedience has been so rewarding, in ways that we see immediately and not so immediately.

Lord, thank you for my family.  Thank you for my beautiful children – both so sweet, so talented, so committed to the desires of their heart.  Lord, thank you for giving them to us.  Thank you for giving us a gymnast – strong, determined, and eager to push herself to the next level, even if it means not being #1 all the time.  Thank you for my baby girl.  So proud to be a Christian girl, so tender hearted and kind, so gentle with babies and animals, so pure of heart.

Thank you for my husband.  Thank you that he is such a wonderful provider, such a kind and gentle servant, that he works so hard and works for YOU.  Thank you for his many talents.  Thank you that you brought me the perfect husband and partner.  Help me to be the right kind of wife to him, help me to be the help mate that you designed me to be.  Help me to love him in a way that is meaningful and builds him up.

Lord, bless our upcoming move and our house sale.  Bless the family that wishes to buy it.  Please help us to be prepared for any issues that come up and to have willing hearts and bodies to handle them.

You are an awesome God.  Our lives are just a speck in your huge kingdom but it is amazing that you would care about us, about our lives and bless us so richly.

Thank you God for your love, Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice.

In Jesus’ Name – Amen.

Exhausted….

This was a very hectic weekend, my best friend came to visit – she moved away about 2 years ago and I have missed her terribly.  I love her so much and just wanted to be able to spend a lot of time with her.

We had some very wonderful talks, had a girls’ night out with other friends, visited with others including a sick friend with a baby that we ended up giving a bath to – a totally fun blast from the past, I haven’t bathed an infant in about 11 years!

But through all of that I think I got 5 hours of sleep all weekend….and I’m WORN OUT!

I tried to call in to work today but we had interviews for my replacement at work and I had to be there….and it was a long process and will continue through next week probably.  But today when I got home I fell asleep around 6 and LOVED IT.  I plan on catching a few more Z’s later.  I definitely can’t hang out sleep deprived like I used to.

Mother’s Day

Today was an awesome day!  I woke up to my husband kissing me and telling me he was going to the church to help with the music team.  A couple hours later I finally got out of bed and started to get ready for church.  My daughters made me a wonderful breakfast of peanut butter toast w/honey and hot cocoa.  Also, there were fresh muffins in the oven.  Darian made me an origami tulip – very sweet.

Then I look outside and there is a beautiful new bougainvillia plant from my husband and he also left me a wonderful card.  It said:

You Will Always Have My Love

In everything you hope or do, I’ll encourage and believe in you,

For your every joy is my joy too – You will always have my love.

No matter what, no matter where, You can count on me and I’ll be there,

To understand, to show I care – You will always have my love.

You’re at the heart of everything that truly matters to me.  I love you and I always will.

He woke up super early and went to the store to buy me these things – he picked them out himself and he knew I loved the bougainvillia.  We had decided against it because it was a little on the pricey side (for our budget) but once I saw it on our entertainment patio – I knew it belonged and it was so thoughtful….I am truly a blessed woman.

Daily Bread

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for blessing me with a wonderful and hard working husband.  Thank you that we have our daughter back after a long week away at camp.  Thank you for keeping her in your care.  Lord, please bless us as we take our road trip tomorrow to Issaquah, and Lord I pray for Darian and her tumbling team – that they would compete well and be in good health.  Help them each to do their best.  Lord I commit my life to you and I commit my marriage to you and I commit my family to you.

You’re such an awesome God.  Thank you for your love and care.  Amen.
