So…..we decided to look at existing homes in town.
And we found one that is a real gem – hidden potential galore! We knew what neighborhod we wanted to live in – established and close to schools. Those were the two most important parts of the search. The house can be updated and changed to suit our needs. But the neighborhood is what it is. And we like it a lot.
So, after doing a walk through of the home, we decided to make an offer. Our offer is written up – the bank has preapproved us – and we’re waiting for a response, hopefully in the next day or two. Waiting is NOT my favorite thing to do. But I know that God’s timing is better than mine. He is going to take care of it. If the house is not right then we are trusting God to show us something new.

We are renting a condo for this next year – it’s temporary while we begin plans to build our new house. And this week I’m going to be putting things away and making our house a home. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. I want it to feel as homey as possible.
The girls finally have their own rooms and they are loving it. We don’t have our cable hooked up yet but I managed to find a couple of $5 tv antennas and we actually get about 6 channels! I was debating whether or not to cancel cable but my husband told me that he really felt that we needed to splurge a little and have one or two nice things – to include cable and super fast internet. Right now I’m using free internet at wi-fi hot spots (using my laptop).
Anyway – it’s been a while since I have moved (7 years!!!) so this is kind of neat, finding new homes for my décor and arranging furniture in the most sensible way. I am also finding that I reallllly want to host a small group at our place. Our church is thinking about starting some and we’ve done bible studies at our house in the past – I didn’t think I’d be wanting to do them at this condo but since it’s a little roomier than I thought and we had such a nice time having people over on Sunday I am really wanting to open up our doors to some ministry.
But first things first – I need to get this place looking good. It’s going to be fun!
